The individual in this position will assist in preparing, packaging, delivering, and charging of medications, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Position duties include the following activities:
Fill and label medications.
Stock medications into pharmacy inventory.
Restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications.
Deliver medications to patient care areas.
Attend to medication requests and phone calls.
Assist in Pharmacy quality assurance activities.
Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures.
Assist pharmacists in performing various duties as assigned.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Technical or Vocational Pharmacy Technician experience (preferred)
National Technician Certification
Current license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
ACPE 40 hour Sterile product certification in Sterile Compounding and Aseptic technique
Non- IV certified pharmacy technicians must obtain ACPE Provider Accredited IV Training Course (40 hours) within 2 months from date of hire (training will be provided on site)
Pre-packaging drug equipment (Fast Pak, Medidose), AS400, Pyxis applications, and compounding equipment for TPNï¿½s, Cerner System
