Position Summary Vascular Access Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing and evaluating patient care interventions and their effect on outcome. The Vascular Access Nurse must demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation, planning, coordination and provision of care for the patient while planning vascular access selection and insertion of ultrasound guided PIV, Extended Dwell, Midline, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters. The Vascular Access Nurse will work in collaboration with the Interventional Radiology Department and the Director of Cardiovascular Services in accordance with hospital/department policies.
Qualifications: MANDATORY: 1 Current CA RN license & CPR card. 2 Knowledge of computers and programs 3 Completion of BARD PICC line insertion course 4 Completion of yearly supplemental competency validation 5 Completion of 5 CEU's yearly related to vascular access PREFERRED: 1 Vascular Access Certification 2 CRNI certification
