AdventHealth Orlando for Children Description:
Since opening our doors in 1908, AdventHealth has offered one of the most comprehensive children’s health programs in Central Florida. Today, we continue this legacy of pediatric excellence at the Magnet® recognized Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children.
Our campus is home to 30 pediatric sub-specialties led by a team of 400+ nurses and physicians. We provide specialized care in various state-of-the-art settings, including an Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with private family-centered rooms, an Advanced Center for Pediatric Surgery handling nearly 4,000 cases each year, and one of the few pediatric oncology programs in the area.
We’re also Central Florida’s only pediatric provider for bone marrow transplant, kidney transplant, Gamma Knife services, trilogy radiation and Level III epilepsy care. But perhaps most exciting of all, is that this is the first—and only—hospital to bear the Disney® name.
The role you’ll contribute:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients. * Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary. * Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions. * Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Organizational and multi-tasking skills • Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures • Ability to work as a Team player within a unit • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills • EKG (based on patient ; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills) • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
Education: • Associate's of Nursing [Required] • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience: • 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]
